It is state-of-the-art technology that lowers a patient’s radiation exposure by 75% as compared to traditional non-digital X-rays. With panoramic imaging, a digital sensor is slipped inside your mouth and in a single image, both upper and lower dental arches and your complete jaw are displayed on screen, in one image, ready for immediate viewing.
Digital X-rays allow for enhanced views that are not possible with traditional film systems. Without altering the original data, images can be enlarged, sharpened, rotated, or colorized. With digital images on file, new images can be superimposed over older images to highlight changes to dental health. As an added benefit, no developing chemicals are required, so this style of X-ray is environmentally friendly.
